Custom rigid box with a two-piece lid

How to Choose Custom Rigid Boxes for a Luxury Unboxing

A rigid box is the one customers keep on a shelf. The board is wrapped, not folded from a flat carton, so the lid stays square and the print does not crease across a corner. That is why fragrance, jewelry, electronics, and gift brands specify rigid packaging even when a mailer would cost less to ship.

Start with the product, not the decoration

Measure the item with any insert you plan to use. Add a little clearance so the product lifts out without scuffing the wrap. If the box is too tight, the lid bows. If it is too loose, the product rattles in transit and the unboxing feels cheap. A simple paper or foam insert often does more for perceived quality than an extra foil stamp.

Board, wrap, and closure

Thicker greyboard holds a heavier lid and a magnetic flap without twisting. A wrapped paper finish takes full-color CMYK well and can be paired with a soft-touch laminate when the brand needs a quieter surface. Magnetic closures suit gift sets. A lift-off lid suits products that are displayed open on a counter. Tell us which moment matters more: the snap of the magnet, or the product sitting in an open tray.

Print that survives the wrap

Rigid wraps are printed, then mounted. Fine type near the edge can land on a turn-in, so keep logos and legal lines inside a safe margin. Ask for a digital proof before the board is cut. If a Pantone must match exactly, call it out on the artwork instead of hoping a CMYK build will land on the same chip.

When the size, closure, and print are agreed, we sample the structure before a full run. Browse rigid boxes or request a quote with your dimensions and quantity.
